Today the meurer group employs approx. 500 staff members
and has a total manufacturing area, including design and
administration of 27.000 m² – split between two locations.
From the beginning our focus has been our integration of new
innovations. With continual research and application of new
innovations our development department constantly strives for
a technological head start.

| 1969: |
Company was founded by Franz-Josef and Christel Meurer. Production began with 4 employees in rented rooms. Initially designing and building module building blocks and individual parts for a well-known German printing press manufacturer. This was shortly by meurer developing and producing small devices for shrink film wrapping machines. |
| 1970: |
With the establishment of a manufacturing plant of 2.500 m², the basis for an own production programme was started. |
| 1972: |
The first fully automatic wrapping machines for shrink and stretch film were developed and released. |
| 1975: |
A first time presence at the Interpack exhibition: at which the newly developed and advanced film packaging machines; were introduced. |

Introduction of an electronics module system: |
| 1982: |
Expansion of the production and management facility: through the acquisition of further premises. The meurer production programme was extended to include case packaging machines. |

Introduction of programmable memory controls. |
| 1989: |
Equipments for palletising were introduced within the product range. Adoption of AC drive technology via frequency converters, from DC drives. |

Acquisition of the production hall: with administration department in Freren: Introduction of a CAD-system in the design department. |

Establishment of a new administration department and enlargement of the production area: |

Certification according to EN ISO 9001: Introduction of the touch panels and bus systems. |
| 1998: |
Development of a new machine generation: incorporating open balcony construction: Enlargement of the conveying technology to include buffer systems. |

Development of a high-speed sleeve wrapper (one and two-laned) with up to 140 packs/min. Type CM / HBB. |
| 2000: |
Came the Introduction of the multi-axis servo systems: Development of the film-wrapping machine to include Lateral folding. Type CM / VE 40-B. |

Saw the Introduction of the standard control concept, consisting of motion/machine control/ communication, and visualisation platform: and the Development of a second generation, continuous motion: case packing machine. Type CM / HTW. |
| 2007: |
Following the death of Franz-Josef Meurer, his wife Christel Meurer took over the management of the meurer group, as Managing Director. Mr. Ludger Richter took responsibility of the management of the meurer Verpackungssysteme GmbH & Co. KG with Mr. Walter Schmidt taking similar responsibility for meurer Elektro- und Steuerungstechnik GmbH & Co. KG. |

Investment in the enlargement of the production and dispatch hall in Fürstenau, increasing it’s area to approx. 1,500 m²: and the development of a new high-speed horizontal flow wrapping machine; the CM/HHS from the meurer group convinces with a performance of 160 packs/min. |
