Cleverly designed: the meurer CM/DP 2/3 display packer
For the food industry Meurer has designed a servo-driven display packer which takes folding boxes filled with sugar from the upstream machine in an upright position, turns them into a horizontal position, stacks them according to the preset grouping pattern and packs them in a four edge sealed tray with inner U-lid. An intelligent servo multi-axle controller with 6 axles ensures the required output of max. 20 packages per minute.
Folding box measurements
Length 200 – 465 mm
Width 75 – 240 mm
Height 120 – 160 mm
Required performance
Up to 132 folding boxes per minute, but max 20 packages per minute
Highlights
• Turning unit to turn the products from "upright"
to "horizontal"
• Erecting unit
• Stacking unit
• Right-angled delivery
• Melton hot melt unit
Automatisation concept
• Control of the entire machine via a 6-axle servo controller
• Software realised with 3S according to IEC 61131-3
Visualisation
• Machine equipped with 10“ infrared colour touch panel
• Easy copying or selecting of format data, thus quick
changeover to new product sizes
• Interactive failure analysis with the help of machine machine
sketch, real pictures and help texts
• Comprehensive diagnostic functions (e. g. status display
of the complete I/O platform)
• Connecion to higher-ranking machine data collection
systems possible
Communication
• Communication of pancel, control and remote maintenance
via Ethernet
• Decentralised peripherals via a process field bus
(PROFIBUS)
This is how it works
The folding boxes are fed in lengthwise upright - with the top up or down - and turned into a horizontal position in a turning unit. Supported by an edge, the folding boxes now arranged crosswise are precisely erected between two vertical belts and stacked as required. A right-angled collecting unit transports the folding boxes into the feeding position. Here, a slide feed takes over the folding boxes and pushes them together with the U-lid blank into another turning unit. The unit turns by 180 °. A second slide feed carries the package together with the bottom tray blank into the pressing unit with Melton hot melt devicee. The finished package is turned by 90 ° and ejected via a right-angled output unit parallel to the running direction.
